Pics from this weekend's demo

These are just two stills taken from the video my dad shot during one of the demos at the bike fair today.

Svenska Cykeldagarna

I have attended "Svenska Cykeldagarna" (Swedish Bicycle Days) which is the biggest cycling fair in the Nordic countries and the gala dinner with award ceremonies for the best cyclists in Sweden this years in different cathegories. Not for trials though. Dalblads Nutrition arranged it so I could ride there. I did one show at the fair both Saturday and Sunday and rode on stage during the award party. I counted roughly 800 guests, mostly important riders, sales people or event organizers, and they all seemed to enjoy my show. I'm very pleased with how the show went, the crowd was really supporting and with music, lights and a big screen it was awesome riding there. I did get video footage from one of the demos at the fair and will get a copy of what was displayed on the big screen during my performance, hopefully I'll also get hold of some photos from the night.

A few weeks ago I did a small demo at the opening of a café in Landvetter. It was outside and it was really cold, but still a fun demo. I'm waiting for the photos from that night aswell, hopefully they will get here soon so I can put them up for everyone to see.

England

Hello.

I came back from my UK trip yesterday. I went to the final round of the British Championship, which was also an so called European Cup which everyone from EBU countries could enter.

On Friday the 19th I and my dad arrived to London and got picked up at the airport by Stuart Matthews (Thanks Stuart) and went to his house where we stayed on Friday and Saturday night. During the day on Saturday I went in to London City centre to meet up with some friends from home who happened to be there on the same day, and in the evening I attended a dinner with trials people from a lot of European countries.

In the morning on Sunday 21st we. together with Andy Chai went to the venue at Hook Woods. It's a great place for a competition with loads of interesting obstacles such as rocks, logs, banks and concrete things. Throughout the day I rode fairly well, but did some silly mistakes and ended up on 5th place in Elite, which still isn't bad.

The day after the competition I went to Exeter to visit Joe Seddon and Juliane Treue. We went down to the seafront of south England and rode the cliffs, where these pictures were taken by Juliane:

On Tuesday we went to a cool spot pretty much in the middle of nowhere in Devon, where I took this picture with my phone:

and Juliane shot these photos from the same place:

On Wednesday I went to Bristol to ride with Rowan Johns, Sam Wheeler, Tic and a few more riders. It was a good day out, and I got to ride some of the now classic Bristol spots. In the evening I and Sam went to his house, where I stayed until Friday.

We rode Oxford on Thursday. It was a very relaxed ride, which was good as my back started hurting during the week. The only bad thing about Oxford is the amount of people and security guards, which stopped us from riding some of the spots.

Friday didn't really bring a lot of riding during the day, we went to a roughly built BMX-park inside an old factory building somewhere. It was cool going there, but I couldn't ride much on the trials bike. In the evening, however, I went back to London to stay at Chai's place near Hammersmith. The first thing we did when I got there around 10pm was to go out riding the streets around his. That turned out to be an awesome ride, loads of good spots, almost no people out to disturb us and perfect weather. I had a great ride and pulled off some really cool moves, which made the night ride even more perfect.

The morning after, on Saturday, I got on the underground to Oxford Street to meet another of my friends from home who rescently moved to London. We had a good day just walking around in the streets, looking in shops and going to different cafés and areas in the city. In a shop in Covent Garden I found the perfect birthday gift for my girlfriend too. This evening I had dinner with my friend in her apartment and later went out to a club.

Sunday was the last day of riding. This day there were a fair few riders out, of which I can name John Shrewsbury, Andy Chai, Sam Wheeler (still on BMX though), Nick Goddard, plus 10 or so other very friendly people.

I had an awesome week, thanks to everyone who made it possible by helping me out in all sorts of ways. When I got home I emptied my walled from all the train tickets I had left from the trip, which together cost me approximately 130 pounds. These are the ones I still had left:

Pictures from the summer

As i mentioned in the post titled "A Forest" sometime in the beginning of the summer I had a few cool photos to upload, but I haven't been able to get them until now. Here are some of them:

Last round of the Swedish Champs

I got second place again, both in the last round and in the overall results. Theres not much to say except Congratulations to Björn Levin for his 5th championship title. It was a great day anyways, I liked the sections which had tricky bits but were possible to clean.

4th Swedish Championship round

Today I rode the 4th Swedish Champ round in Alingsås. It was a good day, the sections were fun with quite tricky bits. I and Björn Levin both rode on 6 dabs each, but unfortunately for me he won the event as he had more clean sections. The final round of the championship will be held tomorrow, very near the venue for todays competition but in a different area.

Dalblads Warehouse Demo

Today I did a demo for Dalblads Nutrition at the opening ceremony of their newly expanded factory/warehouse. It was planned to be an outdoor event, but the bad weather made us move the demo rig indoors into the warehouse. It was a good day with quite a lot of people there for the opening ceremony who saw me ride. Hopefully I'll get pictures from this event too. I'm still waiting for the promised pictures from the Sportson demo and the video from the Malmö street ride, I hope to get them online asap.

Malmö

I and Martin Petrén went down to Malmö to ride the streets down there. It was good riding with Mads, Patrik Björkqvist and the local rider Rickard. Opposite what was said in the forecast the weather was perfect for riding all day yesterday. We ended the session around 9 in the evening at a small skatepark. Mads will hopefully get a fresh video out soon

Sportson demo

This weekend I did a demo for Sportson out on on the shopping area of Backaplan in Gothenburg. It went well, I got cool stuff to ride and a good soundsystem. It seemed like the crowd and the staff enjoyed the show, I certainly did. I hope to get pictures soon :)

Check it out, I've worked on it for a while. It's also featured on Burger King like my previous video was, go vote for it on their site, where you can see a short version of the video: extreme.burgerking.com

good night

France trip

Hey all,

I went to France for the BIU World Champs round two the weekend before last, it was quite cool. It's took about 15 hours to drive down, I and my dad took it easy and had a good journey down. When we got to La Tour de Scay we parked the camper van and just hung out with all the people we know. Sadly not a lot of people go to these events any longer, probably in favor of UCI comps. What I like about the BIU is the chilled out athmosphere at the camp, and the activities some organizers have beside the actual comp.

I got 14th in Seniot, which was decent. My second lap was really good except one 5 which I got in the last section. 14 sections two times was hard work. I really liked the man made sections, but didn't really enjoy the slippery rocks in the all natural sections. Anyways, it was a good weekend

Riding, filming

The last weekend has been a lot of riding, first all saturday with Johan Brundin back on his bike, Emil and Martin. We were mostly around the docks and centre of Gothenburg, a really good ride. Yesterday I and Christian were out around Majorna for for street. I've got 4.5 mins of good footage for my next video now, hopefully I can get it finished tomorrow. Today I was out on my BMX bike all day, with some guys from Stockholm who stopped in Gothenburg on their roadtrip around Sweden. I'll go out with them again tomorrow, and hopefully we will all ride the concrete skatepark in Alingsås on wednesday. It's great having a week off work,

TeamXstream

I recieved a really cool mail yesterday, apparently one of my videos uploaded to the extreme sports video-site www.teamxstream.com won their contest :D The price is a Freebord, a sort of skateboard designed to ride like a snowboard, which sounds like loads of fun (and bruises). Check them out at www.freebords.se/.

Filming for a new video

Last saturday (5th) I was out riding with Linus, some street in the centre of Gothenburg. We got some really good footage for my next video, I hope to finish it soon. There's a slight chance I can get another video to be shown at Burger King, the competition is still running. The ride was good, first time with my King hub. It worked well and I'm really happy to have finally bought one.

You will be missed, Robert Janson

Robert Janson, one of my best friends and a fellow rider died last Friday. We are many who will miss him, he was a legend on the Trials-Forum and a really cool person to ride with or just hang out with. I made many videos together with Robert, and he was very talented both as a rider, video editor, musician and generally a clever and helpful person. Riding wont ever be the same without him.

SS

Quite shitty picture, but it will do the job for now... You can see the polish anyway. *BLING*

Making parts

Today I made myself some singlespeed spacers, very clean looking with just one piece on each side of the cog instead of several narrower spacers. I lathed them from alumunium and gave them a quick polish, turned out looking really nice. Pictures up tomorrow, time for bed. Hopefully I'll make a new bashring tomorrow :) I wont make a tensioner just now though, I'll just modify my old one and make a new later.

New gear

I've finally finished my new wheels and gotten the stuff from Tartybikes that I ordered, new cogs and chains. I put everything on today, and found out what needs to be done before I can ride with the new parts. I need new SS-spacers and a new tensioner, and while I'm at it I'll get a new, cleaner looking bashring. All are things I can make myself at work, so that's what I'll spend the afternoons doing the next few days.

Comp

The 3rd round of the Swedish Champs was today in Kinna. Not much to say really, I rode really well but ended up on 2nd place anyway. This time far behind Björn, he rode really well on his home ground. I will try to get hold of some pics. It was a really good event anyway with nice sections, it's just a shame that the amount of participants has gone down to an all-time-low in Swedish Champs, today only 17 riders took part in the event. Compared to the 50-60 we've had before that is really bad..

BURGER KING

I know, I'm slow. This is news I should have posted more than a week back, but anyways:

My two latest videos, the ones on the videos page on the site, are shown in all Burger King restaurants in Sweden!! 300 screens! It's quite awesome actually.

Now, everyone has to go to Burger King Extreme Film Awards and sign up and vote for my video!

First clips for a new video

I went out this weekend to ride the spots I found down by the south bank earlier last week, and they were really good. The only problem was that it was too windy to ride properly. Hopefully the weather will clear up again, it's raining now, so I can go down and ride the spots again later this week. On Saturday I've got a competition and I just hope my stuff from Tartybikes have arrived by then, so I can get my new rear wheel finished.

RIP Beau

http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=121907

Although I only met Beau once he seemed like a sound person, it's always tragic when these things happen. His riding really began to get very good, a shame to loose a talented rider this way.

Ride in Peace.

A forest

I just couldn't wait for the whole set of pictures to be edited, so I thought I'd show you one of the shots from a session in Slottsskogen with my friend and photographer Victor Zackrisson

New spots

I've found loads of new spots around the centre of Gothenburg :) I went out on a walk with one of my friends just to walk around and look at the city at night, and ended up in areas I've never been before, and I'm really excited to go there some day soon to ride and film

Hultsfred -08

Woohoo. Last week I really didn't do any riding, I was at the Hultsfred festival instead. I had a great time camping with my friends and I saw lots of good band: Rage against the machine, Raised Fist, Rufus Wainwright and tons of others. Now I'm back and will start working tomorrow, and hopefully get to ride a lot this week.

Sweet new vids :)

Redesigned website!

There's some new media up, check out the two new videos.

Those two and a few other of my videos are currently being aired on the local TV-channel Öppna Kanalen in Gothenburg. It's not a big channel, but it's still cool to have them shown there.

As soon as possible the gallery will have some fresh pictures, I've got a few on the computer waiting for the final touch before they go online.

Fresh site

It's taken a bit more time than I hoped it would to set up the website and all that, which explains why I haven't posted much rescently. I think I'll be able to post more frequently now when I've got the news on a blog rather than the actual website.

Anyways, two weeks ago I rode the first Swedish Championship round in Partille. It went alright, but I only came third. Martin Eriksson is back in trials from a break, and he rode very well in Partille and won the round. Björn Levin came 2nd. The sections were quite good

The week after that I and Daniel Johansson did a show at a School in Billdal about half and hour drive south from Gothenburg, where I live. We got a decent set up with lots of pallets and we also got a soundsystem to use, which was cool. We blasted some electronic tunes and some rock which seemed to work, the crowd liked the show. We were appreciated at the event.

After that I've been down riding street in Helsingborg, a few hours drive south in Sweden. I, Daniel, , Linus Pihlsgård from around Gothenburg came down to ride with Patrik Björkkvist and a fairly local rider named Rickard. It was a good day with some good riding going on. Hopefully there will be some clips up from it later on. The day after was the Sofiero comp, which has become an annual thing we host at a car exhibition in the castle park there.

Most recently I rode another Swedish Champ round, yesterday. I rode well on the first lap with only 2 points, and alright on the other two. I felt quite bad throughout the comp though, last week I had a bad cold which took a lot of my energy from me. My ride lead to a second place, after Björn but before Martin. It was an alright weekend anyway, staying in a camper in the middle of nowhere the night before the comp.

Today I'll go out on a small street session with Janson, after I've been to school and been to the local bike shop picking up some spokes for my new rear wheel: Echo rim on King hub :)

3 new vids

I'm in THREE new videos! First off, Mads P has filmed and edited two videos, both available to watch and download from Trials-Forum.co.uk's Trials-Tube.
Street Gothenburg 08
New Years 07 Indoors
They're both sweet, you know you want them!

Today Robert Jansson uploaded a really good video from a ride we had this summer, the video turned out really nicely and it's totally worth downloading.
